THE SAN DIEGO WORLD TRIAL IS OPEN TO ALL ATHLETES. The word "Professional" only reflects that we award cash prizes to the champions. You do not need to be a professional athlete to compete. The brackets are open to all belts—from white to black—and open to all ages—from kids to seniors—regardless of experience level. So sign up and get out on the mat! Whether you win or not, your experience will be life-changing, knowing that you fought in a world championship event!

Founded by the Sheik of Abu Dhabi in 2009, comes the first professional world championship of the martial art Jiu-Jitsu—the World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship (WPJJC) and its qualifying events—the Abu Dhabi World Trials

The WPJJC awarded the winners of these competitions with hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes in its first edition, and in 2012 the prize purse will set a new record, with over one million dollars in prizes. The World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, taking place on April 13, 14 and 15 in Abu Dhabi, UAE is the premier global competition of Jiu-Jitsu today.

The World Trials, which consist of 26 qualifying events being held in 21 countries around the globe, will give access to the main championship event in Abu Dhabi and attract the best athletes in the sport.

In 2011, the Brasilian company Pro Sports (www.abudhabiprojj.com) and the U.S. company Coaction Events (www.coactionevents.com) formed a strategic alliance to organize and promote martial arts tournaments in the United States. Working together, Pro Sports and Coaction Events are proud to bring you the San Diego World Trial of the WPJJC on March 10-11, 2012.

The Abu Dhabi World Trials are made possible by the generous support of the Supreme Prince of Abu Dhabi and Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his son HH Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The official website of the WPJJC is hosted by UAE Jiu-Jitsu at: www.uaejj.com.
